A friend and I had an interesting conversation about the importance of making songs in Navajo.
We both decided to write a song together about our own experiences with Navajo culture, our family history with Navajo music, and our own journey to understanding the history of Navajo music.
We decided to name it “Najibajo”, or “Navy” in Navajo, which translates to “Song of the Navy”.
In Navajo, the word “navy” is often used to refer to the military.
I wrote the song with the help of my son who is a Navajo singer.
We had a lot of fun writing the song and we are very proud of the work that we did.
We hope that you will enjoy it as much as we do.
We would also like to invite you to listen to our song on Spotify and share it with your friends.
We also want to give a special thanks to our Navajo friends who shared their stories with us.
